Computer Literacy Placement Test:

Students interested in testing out of the mandatory eighth grade computer literacy class for the 2018-2019 school year, will have the opportunity on April 3rd or 4th  from 3:50pm – 5:50pm. Students are required to make a 70% or better to receive credit for this class.

 

The test will consist of both a written part and production part using PCs and Microsoft Professional Office 2016 software. In order for the student to demonstrate at least 70% proficiency, the following criteria must be met:

 

  • Pass the written part of the test (70% or higher) multiple choice questions . Information covered in this test may be found on the review you will receive when you return this form signed.

  • Pass the production part of the test (70% or higher). Students will be required to type a block style business letter, including letterhead with graphics, chart from a spreadsheet using Excel, proof-reading skills, touch-typing skills, document saving, and printing skills.

 

Students will be tested at A&M Consolidated Middle School in computer lab 406 at 3:50 after school April 3rd or 4th. Students will have two hours to complete the test. The results of the test will be forwarded to the counselor’s office. If all the above criteria are met, the student will be exempt from taking the computer literacy class in middle school.
