Parents:

Tomorrow we will begin creating individual websites. This project counts for a test grade and we will take all week to complete it.  I will assist students to create a free account at Wix.com (which we use to create our sites) using their school Google accounts. While there is a skeleton of requirements for each of their 5 pages of their website, students have creative freedom with how everything looks including colors, backgrounds, fonts, images, etc. They will get out of this as much as they put into it. Students with a device and internet access can login to their site at home at any time to show you their progress.

 

The websites will be private while they are working on them, which means no one can access your child’s site. When they turn them in, we change them to password protected, which means only people with the exact link AND the password can access your child’s site (this allows me to access for grading purposes). Once I have graded their websites, students have the option to make their sites public, but I have instructed them to do so only after discussing it with you. Please let me know if you have further concerns. I am really enjoying getting to know your student this semester!
